Welsh ICE Pop-Up Shop

Stiwdio Agored participated in the Welsh ICE Scheme for Pop Up Shop space in Newport Market Arcade, Newport, South Wales. We curated the space together and created new work in the space as well. The Pop Up Shop acted as both studio and shop for selling our work as well as developing our practices and collaborations between us. We held an Open Day during the residency in Newport Market Arcade, where over 50 people dropped in to say hello. We were incredibly appreciative for Nicole from Gallery 57 to mark the occasion and say a few words of encouragement and support for our collective. The experience came with its challenges but overall we enjoyed the time we shared in the shop together, especially as a way of connecting as a collective, and more broadly, to the wider Newport creative communities. As a result of being at the Pop Up Shop, we have more plans underway for continuing as a collective, and it will be a pleasure to announce these in the coming months. Thank you to Welsh ICE and Newport's creative community for all your kind encouragement and supportive energy, we are very appreciative to everyone who shared their positivity with us throughout this time.
